How much does builder registration cost in Victoria?

The fees for an individual, 2026 to 2027

What comes later
- The annual fee is due in each later year of registration. The Commission emails a reminder six weeks before the due date. Source: Commission: Registration fees, Annual fees and insurance.
- Renewal fees are paid at five yearly intervals. Lodge the renewal at least three months before your registration expires to avoid a late fee, which is $342.80 in 2026 to 2027. Source: Commission: Registration fees, Renewal fees; Other fees.

The costs people miss
- Access to Australian Standards during the exam. You need your own subscription or purchased online copy, and paying for it is your responsibility. Source: Commission: Building exams, Instructions, Step 2; Commission: Permitted assessment reference materials, Australian Standards.
